Young artist introduced in the waiting room

Collin Zimmer, 16 years old, has been living in Moncarapacho since 2023 as part of a youth support program run by the “Monte Canelas” organization.

Even at a young age, he developed a passion for creative forms of expression. He is particularly fascinated by painting, where he prefers to use acrylic on canvas. He is particularly interested in surrealist and abstract art, which allows him to convey his thoughts and emotions in his own visual language. The paintings shown here were created as part of a regular art class, painted at Studio Inga Pinturas, Fuseta.

This support is made possible by Monte Canelas, one of several non-profit child and youth welfare organizations in Germany. Young people who are unable to live in their families or places of origin for a certain period of time find a temporary home in Portugal. Young people receive family-based care and intensive educational support from specialists in various fields, who promote their personal development in a very individual way.
